Verified Accounts

How do I know if an account on Keek is verified?

Verification IconThis symbol indicates that an account is verified.

Why are accounts verified?

The Keek community is growing rapidly with millions of people signing up monthly. Keek account verification is used to authenticate the identity of users. The verified icon helps establish trust and makes it easier for users to find you and your content.

Who qualifies for verification?

Individuals or businesses at high risk of impersonation that have a sizable audience on Keek, other networks, TV, entertainment etc.

How to complete the verification process

1. Post at least one keek to the account you want to verify

2. Take a screenshot of your Keek profile and post it to your official Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram accounts with the following verification message:

Copy text below:
Go download the Keek app and subscribe to me! http://keek.com/getapp

3. Email us at verifyme@keek.com and include your Keek username along with links to the verification message posted on each of your official accounts.

• You don’t need all of the above accounts to be verified but your chances increase if you post the verification message to all official accounts you own

• Active Keek accounts with engaged followers and subscribers increase your chances of verification

Keek manually reviews all submissions and doesn’t guarantee verification for any account

Keek 101

TIP #1: Post Content Frequently

Users can only subscribe to a limited number of people. If you aren't posting content regularly, you may get unsubscribed. People routinely unsubscribe from inactive users to free up space on their subscription lists for active users.

TIP #2: Post Keeks with Captions & Hashtags

Keeks posted with captions & hashtags get more views. Only keeks with captions are searchable. Keeks appearing in search results and Klusters get more exposure to potential viewers. Remember to use hashtags that are relevant to the content you are posting.

TIP #3: Speak to Your Followers

Keek is more authentic and personal than other networks. Users that record a keek while speaking to the camera generate more interaction.

TIP #4: Connect with Keekbacks

Post keekbacks to make stronger connections with other users. Keekbacks standout on comment threads and can attract new followers.

TIP #5: Keep it Simple

Keek is a massive community of real people sharing real experiences. Keeks posted with stop motion, filters and soundtracks normally don’t do as well as keeks recorded with simple, unedited footage.

TIP #6: Use Your Existing Networks

One of the simplest things many users forget to do is invite friends to join them from other networks they use.

a. In settings on the mobile app or in your Dashboard on keek.com, there are a few simple tools that will help you quickly invite friends to join you and/or find friends already using Keek. Try it here: Invite Friends

b. Try posting a message to other places your friends follow you, like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram for example. Ask your friends to download the Keek app and follow you. Make sure you leave your username so they can easily find you. Attaching a screenshot of your profile will dramatically increase the response rate.

c. Make sure you have posted a few keeks before inviting people to increase your chances of being followed.

d. Try inviting friends at different times of the day or week. Some days and times may work better than others.

TIP #7: Have Fun and Be Yourself!

Help & Technical Questions

I'm on the Android or iPhone app and my keeks are displaying sideways or upside down

  • Please check your device to be sure that the orientation of the camera is not locked. The orientation should always be unlocked when you are recording a keek.
  • When starting to record a keek please be sure to start the recording in a level orientation and try not to switch the orientation as you are recording your keek. Some devices will have a hard time recognizing the proper orientation of your phone if you begin recording in a diagonal or flat orientation.

I am using the Android or iPhone app and my keeks won't upload

Try to log out of the Keek app, close and re-open the app, and then log back in. Try your upload again. If you are connected to a 3G network try switching to a Wi-Fi network to see if this helps resolve the issue.

I am unable to record a keek from my computer

  • Make sure no other programs or browsers are using or accessing your webcam. If you are unsure if another program or browser is using your webcam you can re-start your computer and then open up Keek without starting any other programs.
  • Make sure you have the right web camera selected in the Flash player. You may have to select the right webcam to be used with Keek. Right click (or control-click on Mac) in the Flash player box (this will appear once you click "New keek") – and then choose "Settings" in the menu that appears. In the webcam tab (you'll see the image of a webcam at the bottom of the popup box that appears after you click settings), select the camera you want to use with Keek from the dropdown menu and then click on the "Close" button.
  • Make sure you have the most up to date installation of Flash on your computer. If you see a black box in the window when you click to record a new keek you may need to update, or re-install, your current version of Flash. We recommend that you download the most current version of Adobe Flash Player and install it.
  • Make sure you clear your web browser's cache files to see if this resolves your issue. Each web browser will collect cache data from websites differently depending on your settings. To clear your cache in any of the various web browsers please see the link below for instructions and tips: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache
